Practice Nurse, Ferngate Medical Centre

Ferngate Medical Centre is a small practice which has been operating since 2009. We are a mixed billing medical centre located in Ferntree Gully and are looking for a practice nurse to join our friendly team.

Joining our team of doctors, nursing and administration staff, we offer a friendly work environment, supported with ongoing training and an opportunity for career development.

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN), with general practice experience, to provide quality care to a diverse mix of patients, through:

– Assisting the medical practitioners in delivering medical services
– Assisting the medical practitioners with procedures
– Chronic Condition Management Plans and Health assessments
– Attending RACHs and housebound patients for assessments and care planning
– Immunisations for children and adults
– Wound care
– Patient triage
– Managing the recalls and reminders system
– Stock control, general maintenance and care of medical instruments and equipment
– Sterilising
– Identifying & contributing to the development of patient educational needs
– Implementing and practicing infection control
– Hazardous Waste Management
– Cold Chain Management
– Quality Improvement activities

Do you have the qualities that we are looking for?

– Current registration with AHPRA
– Minimum 1-year experience in a general practice setting (highly desired)
– Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment
– Skilled with use of computers and practice management software (Best Practice)
– A caring and collaborative approach to patient care
– Compassion and professionalism
– Proven multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills

The current position on offer is 3 days per week job share. Casual to start, with the possibility to go permanent after probation period.

Remuneration is based on the Nurse Award MA000034 and experience.
