Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Programs
Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN) commissions services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing.
Services offering EMPHN commissioned programs include Oonah Belonging Place, Bubup Wilam Aboriginal and Family Centre and Banyule Community Health Service. The Programs delivered by these services focus on the Aboriginal communities’ knowledge of their needs and how to address them.
Banyule Community Health Service
Banyule Community Health deliver mental health, social and emotional wellbeing support, including case management and care coordination for the inner and outer north Aboriginal community. More information is available here.
Bubup Wilam Aboriginal Child and Family Centre
Bubup Wilam Aboriginal Child and Family Centre is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO). The centre provides wrap around services to support families including early learning support, parenting support, clinical treatments, cultural strengthening and connection, and referral for other social needs. Oonah Belonging Place
Oonah Belonging Place is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) and was formerly known as the Healesville Indigenous Community Services Association.
The Social and Emotional Wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People Program aims to:
- Improve social and emotional health and wellbeing for all ages (including youth).
- Enhance access to mental health, suicide prevention, and alcohol and other drug services.
- Re-connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in eastern Melbourne to culture, land, and community.
