Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN) is supporting the virtual delivery of healthcare to improve continuity of care in between face-to-face consultations.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth allows patients to attend healthcare appointments via personal computer (PC) or mobile device, in the comfort of their own home or aged care facility. Visit the Australian Digital Health Agency website for more information.

Healthdirect resources and training

Video Call platform

Video Call is a secure video consulting platform that has been purpose-built for primary care settings, in line with changes to the telehealth MBS items.

Healthdirect currently provides free access to this service via the Video Call COVID-19 GP Program.

Please note that the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care has extended the Video Call COVID-19 program until 31st December 2024.
