Finding an after-hours service

Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN) is supporting a number of local health services to deliver efficient and effective after-hours care — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Search for a local service

To search for services that are open after-hours, on public holidays, or on weekends:

In an emergency, call 000 for ambulance, fire or police.

Are you looking for urgent care?

If you require after-hours attention from a doctor or nurse, but not an ambulance or a trip to hospital, your options include:

  • Priority Primary Care Centres (PPCCs) are open extended hours, seven days a week.
  • Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • NURSE-ON-CALL is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

EMPHN funded after-hours services

The Yarra Valley Community Medical Service is an after-hours GP service in the Healesville area, delivered by Eastern Health. Visit the website.

After-hours mental health nursing service is a free after-hours support service in the Box Hill area, for people experiencing mild mental health issues, such as anxiety, stress, depression and grief. In-person or telehealth appointments are available with an experienced mental health nurse. This service is delivered by healthAbility. Visit the healthAbility website.
