Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental health condition (Butterfly Foundation, 2024), making early intervention essential. GPs are often the first to identify concerns and play a key role in initiating treatment and coordinating care. However, the Medicare pathways that support this work can be difficult to navigate, especially when selecting the most appropriate plan for each patient.
Our latest FastTrack provides a clear, structured overview of the Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan (EDP) to help GPs deliver safe, evidence‑based care while meeting Medicare requirements with confidence.
Topics outlined include:
- The three current Medicare billing pathways for eating disorder care – the EDP, the MHTP, and the GPCCMP
- Eligibility criteria that determine which pathway applies
- MBS item structure and schedule fees for each pathway
Completion of the FastTrack and quiz provides 30 minutes Reviewing Performance (RP) and 30 minutes Educational Activities (EA) CPD. Access to this Medicare Business Skills Hub FastTrack is available through your subscription if you are already registered.
