PIP Aged Care Access Incentive has now ended

The Practice Incentives Program (PIP) Aged Care Access Incentive has now ended. Final payments will be processed by 31 March 2025. Any unpaid amounts after this date will be forfeited.

    MyMedicare Registrations Update

As of 6 November 2024, MyMedicare has achieved significant engagement, with:

    • 2,126,435 patients registered.
    • 6,329 general practices registered.
    • Approximately 47,000 provider numbers linked to the program.

General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPACI) Participation

The first quarter of the GPACI program has seen strong national participation, with over 2,200 practices enrolled and 62,000 residents of Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs) registered.

GPACI aims to enhance continuity of care and improve health outcomes by fostering stronger collaboration between General Practitioners, RACHs, and care teams.

GPACI will support continuity of care and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for residents in Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs) by strengthening the relationship between General Practitioners, RACHs and Care teams.

To maximise the benefits of GPACI, consider working closely with your RACHs to establish:

    • Regular visitation schedules with set days and times.
    • Coordination with RACH staff for clinical updates and care planning during visits.
    • Clear communication arrangements for urgent care, after-hours standing protocols, and email notifications for incidents.
    • Processes for managing new patient recommendations from the RACH to your practice.

Once you have done this you may want to consider documenting these arrangements to streamline operations and maintain clear communication between your practice and the RACH team.
