22 November 2024
The Victorian Public Healthcare Awards took place this week, and we are thrilled to congratulate all the 2024 winners. These awards recognise leadership and excellence in the provision of publicly funded healthcare, responding to both established and emerging community needs.
A special congratulations to healthAbility, one of our service partners, for winning the Excellence in Mental Health and Wellbeing Award for their After Hours Mental Health Nursing Service.
This award highlights initiatives that advance the Royal Commission’s vision of a compassionate mental health system, emphasising lived experience leadership, holistic treatment, and support for all Victorians.
The After Hours Mental Health Nursing Service (AHMHNS) supports people experiencing mild or moderate mental health issues such as anxiety, grief, stress, or depression during hours when other services are limited. By providing timely after-hours support, the AHMHNS reduces hospital emergency department demand in eastern Melbourne and improves mental health outcomes.
We would also like to extend our congratulations to other notable winners who operate within our catchment, including:
- Northern Health: Awarded the Creating a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Health System award for their Virtual Healthcare – reducing the health sector’s carbon footprint program.
- Monash Health: Received the Excellence in Women’s Health award for their Safer Birthing for Mothers, Newborns, and Staff program.
- DPV Health: Honoured with the Excellence in Multicultural Community Health award for their DPVH Bicultural Worker Health Literacy program.
- St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne: Celebrated for the Celebrating a Strong and Sustainable Workforce award for their Boosting our Healthcare Workforce Clinical Supervision Program.
These teams have demonstrated outstanding innovation and exceptional care, contributing significantly to the health and wellbeing of every Victorian. Congratulations from EMPHN!
