This interactive online course is designed to help pharmacy staff confidently navigate sensitive sexual and reproductive health concerns, especially in less private settings.

Delivered over two sessions by experienced pharmacists and sexual and reproductive health professionals, the program covers topics such as sexually transmissible infections, contraception and unintended pregnancy.

Knowledge will be translated into practice through various case scenarios and by exploring strategies to improve access to sexual and reproductive health care across various pharmacy settings.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of using effective, inclusive and non-judgmental language when discussing sexual and reproductive health.
  • Discuss considerations when counselling for contraception and unintended pregnancy.
  • Outline appropriate referral pathways to support patient’s sexual and reproductive health.
  • Propose strategies to improve access to sexual and reproductive health in pharmacy.
