National Lung Cancer Screening Program – Commencing July 2025
The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) was announced as part of the 2023–24 Federal Budget, with the Australian Government committing $263.8 million to establish the program. Commencing this July 2025, the program aims to improve health outcomes for Australians by detecting lung cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage. It is being designed with a strong focus on equity, accessibility, and cultural safety, particularly to support those at highest risk of developing lung cancer.
