Banksia Palliative Care
Tuesday 16th June @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Join Banksia Palliative Care experts for the third instalment of the Generalist Advanced Shared Palliative Care (GASP) program.
This session will focus on bleeding in palliative care, including ongoing or recurrent bleeding and preparation for catastrophic terminal events.
Significant visible bleeding in a person living with incurable conditions can be highly distressing for patients, families, carers and responding health professionals. While catastrophic terminal events are uncommon, they can be potentially predictable and require thoughtful preparation.
Ongoing or recurrent bleeding can also occur in people with advanced illness and may be further complicated by anticoagulation, DVT prophylaxis and other prescribing considerations.
Through the GASP program, Banksia Palliative Care aims to strengthen shared care between GPs, palliative medicine specialists and local community palliative care services, supporting better outcomes in complex palliative care scenarios.
This event is for health care professionals and is CPD accredited.
A sushi dinner is included in the program. Please specify any dietary requirements when booking.
