The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) invites you to join a workshop on the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), progress and impacts in supporting and protecting child wellbeing and safety. In this session, you will hear from Stuart Cardell, Director, Victorian Child Information Sharing Division, Department of Education. Stuart will discuss progress and impacts in supporting and protecting child wellbeing and safety. You will also hear from Robyn Byron from the Centre for Mental Health Learning (CMHL) Victoria on the importance of cross-sector sharing to support child wellbeing.

What are the outcomes of the session?

  • Learn about the impact of CISS over the last 3 years including how the scheme has:
    • Improved the early identification of risk to children’s safety and wellbeing
    • Increased collaboration between services that support children and families
    • Promoted earlier and more effective intervention and integrated service provision
    • Improved outcomes for children and families
  • Develop a better understanding of the scheme following the 5 year review
  • Hear about new resources to support you in using CISS.

Who should attend?
This session is relevant for Victorian primary health care nurses and members of the multidisciplinary health care team working with children and families.

APNA’s Improving Child Wellbeing and Safety Outcomes project is supported by the Victorian Government under the Child Information Sharing Capacity Building Grants Program.
