Conducted by the Victorian and Tasmanian PHNs with the National Asthma Council Australia.

This webinar will provide an overview of asthma and COPD, and identify asthma-COPD overlap, including current evidence-based management using both the Australian Asthma Handbook and the COPD-X Guidelines. It will include diagnosis, management, medications and the importance of action plans for self-management.

Presenter: Ceri Banks, RN, Asthma and Respiratory Educator, National Asthma Council Australia

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe how to access the COPD-X and asthma management guidelines
  • Identify the differential clinical features between asthma and COPD
  • Summarise the current guidelines for medication management
  • Summarise the importance of written action plans.

Audience: GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, Aboriginal health practitioners, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals.

This activity has been approved under the educational activities CPD activity type for 1 hour.
