Residential Aged Care Equipment Grants Program

20 November 2025

The Victorian Department of Health, launched the Residential Aged Care Equipment Grants Program, part of the Strengthening Medicare – Supporting Residential Aged Care Staff to Improve Care project on 14 October 2025, with applications closing on 9 December 2025 at 4pm.

The program offers grants of up to $10,000 per residential aged care home to support the purchase of small medical equipment.

These grants are designed to complement the free Comprehensive Health Assessment of the Older Person (CHAOP) training, enabling aged care nurses to apply their skills in practice and support early detection and timely intervention for residents.

The CHAOP training is now underway, with ten workshops being held across Victoria so far. Information on the CHAOP training can be found on the La Trobe University website.

Eligibility for the grant requires commitment to participate in the CHAOP training.
