Provider Connect Australia – Helping healthcare providers stay connected

23 January 2026

The Provider Connect Australia (PCA) initiative is a free national service developed by the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA). It provides a single, reliable place for healthcare practices to manage and update their business information, acting as both a first and last stop for keeping details current across the healthcare system.

Rather than updating information separately with multiple organisations, PCA allows practices to make changes once and have those updates automatically shared with their nominated business partners. This includes hospitals, pathology and radiology services, public service directories, secure messaging providers, Medicare, primary health networks, and more.

From 1 November 2025, PCA has played an important role in supporting eligibility for the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program. Through PCA, practices will be able to automatically update their National Health Services Directory (NHSD) listing with billing details, helping ensure they meet this part of the program’s eligibility requirements.

For health services, the benefits are significant. Updating operational or service information through PCA replaces what was previously a time-consuming and repetitive process. In the past, practices may have needed to complete between 10 and 20 different paper or online forms every time details changed. PCA removes much of this red tape by streamlining updates into one simple process. You can register for PCA here.

By reducing duplication and administrative burden, PCA also helps minimise the risk of inaccurate or outdated information being shared across the sector. This leads to improved efficiency, clearer communication between services, and ultimately supports better quality care for patients.
