New allied health practitioner toolkit launched to support patient care

26 May 2025

Now officially launched, the National Allied Health Practice Engagement Toolkit has been developed to assist allied health practitioners (AHPs) in navigating the complex landscape of the local healthcare system.

Aligning with the National PHN Allied Health in Primary Care Engagement Framework launched in 2022, this resource is part of an ongoing process aimed at enhancing the role of AHPs in primary care.

Key support areas for AHP from the toolkit:

  • Understanding the local healthcare system
  • Utilising digital health systems
  • Connecting with allied health peak bodies
  • Building skills through learning and education
  • Improving safety and quality in patient care
  • Navigating funding streams and grant opportunities

Each chapter of the toolkit is structured around targeted topics, with a curated list of online resources and tools to provide practical guidance and support for AHPs.

This toolkit serves as a vital resource, offering key insights, practical tools and educational opportunities to enhance both patient care and business management.
