04 July 2025
The 6th-13th of July marks NAIDOC Week, a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all of us to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. Â
This year’s theme is “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” which celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
General Practice teams in the catchment can get involved in NAIDOC week in a number of ways to acknowledge the week.
How can your practice get involved?
- Hold a NAIDOC event for staff and patients of the Practice like a morning or afternoon tea.Â
- Celebrate and display posters. There are lots of resources available here: NAIDOC Downloads | NAIDOCÂ
