Expression of Interest – Enabling EDIE Workshop now open

This immersive, in-person, workshop enables participants to see the world through the eyes of a person living with dementia utilising high quality virtual reality technology. The workshop enhances your knowledge of dementia whilst exploring a supportive approach to living more confidently with dementia. Delivered in partnership with Dementia Australia.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • consumers’ perspective of dementia
  • identifying support needs in partnership with the client and their carer
  • developing a dementia support plan that focuses on enabling a person living with dementia.
  • clinical and referral pathways to improve knowledge, skills and confidence in recognising, diagnosing and managing dementia in the general practice setting.

Who should attend?

Suitable for General Practitioners and Practice Nurses who provide support to people living with dementia and their carers.

Session 1: For GPs click here to register your interest Monday 20 May, 7 – 8:30pm A condensed 1.5-hour session for GPs.

The Dementia Directory is a directory of local services and support for people living in Melbourne with dementia, as well as their carers and families. It complements existing directories for My Aged Care and NDIS.

Dementia resources for people living with dementia, and carers

The information sheet is designed to be given to people when they are diagnosed, so they may refer to it later. It includes information about all the key organisations that can help, including Dementia AustraliaCarer Gateway, My Aged Care, and the NDIS.

It is available in English, Italian, Greek, Vietnamese or Simplified Chinese.
