This immersive, in-person, workshop enables participants to see the world through the eyes of a person living with dementia utilising high quality virtual reality technology. The workshop enhances your knowledge of dementia whilst exploring a supportive approach to living more confidently with dementia. Delivered in partnership with Dementia Australia.
You will gain knowledge in:
- consumers’ perspective of dementia
- identifying support needs in partnership with the client and their carer
- developing a dementia support plan that focuses on enabling a person living with dementia.
- clinical and referral pathways to improve knowledge, skills and confidence in recognising, diagnosing and managing dementia in the general practice setting.

Who should attend?
Suitable for General Practitioners and Practice Nurses who provide support to people living with dementia and their carers.

Dementia resources for people living with dementia, and carers
The information sheet is designed to be given to people when they are diagnosed, so they may refer to it later. It includes information about all the key organisations that can help, including Dementia Australia, Carer Gateway, My Aged Care, and the NDIS.
