EMPHN is updating its list of primary care providers who are ready to lend critical support during emergency situations, such as thunderstorm asthma events, bushfires, or public health crises like pandemics.
In times of crisis, Primary Health Networks (PHNs) may be asked to mobilise healthcare professionals to assist the community. These requests can come from key stakeholders like the Victorian Department of Health, the Commonwealth Department of Health, hospitals, and local governments. Assistance may be needed on an individual level or involve an entire practice.
The term ’emergency’ covers a wide range of events from a natural disaster, accident or as part of a pandemic response. Your involvement could make a vital difference to the community’s health response during these challenging times.
We are calling on GPs, GP registrars, practice nurses, practice managers, and pharmacists to express their willingness to help by completing a brief survey.
Your participation could play a key role in enhancing the healthcare response during emergencies.
