Receptionist, Ferngate Medical Centre

Ferngate Medical Centre is a small practice which has been operating since 2009. We are a mixed billing medical centre located in Ferntree Gully, and are looking for a medical receptionist to join our friendly team.

Joining our team of doctors, practice nurse and administration staff, we offer a friendly work environment, supported with ongoing training and possible opportunities for career development.

We have one casual position available. The current shifts are as follows but are subject to change:
– Monday – 11am to close
– Thursday – 1pm to close
– Friday – 8am to 1pm
– Saturday (every 2nd / 2 in 4) – 8:15am to 12pm
– Weekday close time is 6pm or slightly later
– Including flexibility for leave coverage

The successful candidate will have great customer service skills, high attention to detail and a happy bubbly personality.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
– Answering incoming calls
– Greeting patients
– Booking appointments via phone and in person
– Taking payments/processing Medicare claims
– Scanning
– Faxing
– Managing referrals
– Liaising with doctors/specialists
– Cleaning & restocking offices
– General administration

Do you have the qualities that we are looking for?
– Previous medical reception / reception experience preferable
– Ability to work under pressure and multi-task with a high attention to detail
– High level of confidentiality
– Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
– Microsoft office and administration skills
– Team player with a “can do” attitude
– Previous experience using a booking software program (eg: Best Practice)
– Start as soon as possible.

Remuneration is as per Health Professionals and Support Services Award [MA000027] and experience.
