Hourly Rate for both roles $107.9512 excluding Superannuation as per Sexual Health Victoria and the Australian Medical Association Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2022 Level 2 Medical Officer

Sexual Health Victoria (SHV) is a leading provider of sexual and reproductive healthcare, education and advocacy. We are seeking a skilled and committed Medical Officer to join our multidisciplinary clinical team and help deliver high-quality, inclusive and client-centred care.

This role is ideal for a Vocationally Registered GP with a passion for sexual and reproductive health and a commitment to improving community health outcomes.

About the Role:
The Medical Officer (Level 2) provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services within SHV’s clinical setting. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will contribute to delivering safe, evidence-based care in line with SHV’s clinical protocols and relevant legislation.

You will also play a key role in supporting clinical excellence, education and continuous improvement, while working alongside nurses, registrars and other clinicians in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities include:
– Deliver safe, high-quality, client-centred sexual and reproductive health care
– Conduct independent clinical consultations, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment
– Support and guide registrars and nursing staff in clinical practice
– Provide structured, high-quality clinical supervision for health professionals on placement at SHV focusing on safe practice, clinical competence, and service quality
– Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
– Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
– Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and accreditation activities
– Contribute to education, training and professional development initiatives
– Support research, evaluation and service improvement activities
– Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements

About You:
You are an experienced, compassionate clinician who values inclusive, respectful and evidence-based care. You bring a collaborative approach and are committed to supporting safe, high-quality outcomes for diverse communities.

Essential experience & attributes:
– Experience in general practice and/or sexual and reproductive health
– Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Commitment to inclusive, client-centred care, including working with gender and sexually diverse communities
– High level of clinical competence and professional integrity

Qualifications:
– Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner (MBBS or equivalent)
– Access to Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) as a VR practitioner
– SRHA National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health for Doctors or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
