About the role

The Contract Management Specialist is responsible for end-to-end management of a portfolio of service contracts to ensure contractual obligations are met, risks are controlled, value is realised, and stakeholders receive timely advice and support. The Contract Management Specialist collaborates with procurement team, legal, finance, program managers, and suppliers to provide robust contract administration, monitoring, and continuous improvement of contract processes.

About You

You bring a blend of contract life-cycle expertise and stakeholder management skills as well as a track record of building and maintaining relationships with external providers.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce, Procurement, Business or a related discipline

• Experience in contract management across a multidisciplinary organisation, preferably in the health sector

• Demonstrable negotiation and influencing skills to navigate the commercial landscape and drive value

• Performance analysis capabilities to monitor contract KPI delivery and identify improvement opportunities

• An understanding and commitment to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 Quality Management System requirements

• Strong experience drafting contract notices, extensions, variations and other documentation.

• The ability to be curious, proactive and flexible in approach to your work with a continuous improvement mindset

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Program, Finance and Risk teams to set agreed cyclical contract management requirements and ensure that contract onboarding is managed effectively in line with EMPHN’s value for money framework.
  • Support programs through effective risk management by leading and supporting meetings with service providers with a view to improve target setting, KPI reporting, financial outcomes, compliance, and insurance controls.
  • Provide contract related data into the relevant portfolio planning processes, support the Program team(s) by translating deed objectives into service provider KPIs and identify innovative solutions to complex contract requirements.
  • Oversee contract management system data accuracy and inputs as well as linking service provider contracts to funding deeds and portfolio budget management while leading data collection for program-level reporting.
  • Enable business improvement and innovation through identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement while contributing to and ensuring team compliance with risk mitigation strategies in line with policies and procedures.
  • Drive effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide timely and innovative guidance towards the delivery of EMPHN’s commercial objectives.
  • Role model EMPHN’s values and behaviours and champion EMPHN’s culture while simultaneously being a member of a high-performing team.
