Women’s Health/Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

6-Month Fixed Term Position, with possibility to extend subject to funding
Part Time – 0.1 – 0.2 EFT (1 Day/week if covering both clinics, 1 day/fortnight if working at Thomastown only).

First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing is a rapidly growing Aboriginal community-controlled health service aiming to improve access to trauma-informed comprehensive primary health care across Melbourne. Our workplaces are distinguished by a rare mix of inclusiveness, empathy, excellence and innovation. In 2025, First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing opened the first and only Aboriginal led Women’s Health Clinic. This Clinic offers women and girls access to specialist services that are culturally safe and trauma informed.

Essential Criteria:

• AHPRA-registered Physiotherapist with postgraduate qualifications or advanced training in Women’s Health Physiotherapy
• Minimum 7 years’ experience, with demonstrated competence in pelvic health, antenatal/postnatal Physiotherapy and chronic pain
• Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting
• Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of social determinants of health and how they impact Aboriginal communities
• Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information
• Excellent computer literacy skills and time management skills.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice

• Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled setting or with Aboriginal clients

• Experience in group facilitation and community health education

• Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and/or relevant special interest groups.
