Presenter bio:

Mr Owen Mattern is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery. He has a keen interest in conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow as well general orthopaedic trauma.

Mr Mattern performs shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery and treat patients with fractures, soft tissue and sports injuries.

Mr Mattern graduated from medicine at Newcastle University in 2004 and reloaded to Melbourne in 2006. He completed the Victorian Orthopaedic training in 2016, earning admission as a Fellow into both the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (OAO). Mr Mattern then underwent advanced specialist training in 2017 and 2018, which included a clinical fellowship at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute, and an upper limb fellowship at prestigious Wrightington Hospital in the UK.
