Preparing Practices, Connecting Systems and Strengthening Community Resilience

The Primary Health Networks (PHNs) are pleased to invite you to join us for a webinar exploring the role of primary care in emergency preparedness, response and recovery.

As communities prepare for the summer season, primary care plays a critical role in supporting patients, maintaining continuity of care and contributing to coordinate emergency responses.

This webinar will provide practical insights into emergency management arrangements, seasonal risks and opportunities for collaboration across the health system.

Speakers:

  • Adam Lee, Senior Emergency Management Officer, Department of Health
  • Dolphina Truter, Practice Manager, Beaufort Family Practice

Topics:

  • Summer seasonal outlook and emerging risks
  • The roles of primary care, PHNs and the Department of Health, and how they work together during emergency preparedness and response.
  • Practical application of the Health Emergency Management Sub-Plan
  • The Field Emergency Medical Officers (FEMO) program
  • Case Study: Key learnings from a bushfire emergency

This webinar is hosted by Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN) in collaboration with North Western Melbourne PHN, Melbourne PHN, Eastern Melbourne PHN, Gippsland PHN, Murray PHN, and South Eastern Melbourne PHN.
