The Monash Victorian Heart Institute invites primary care physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to attend our stroke masterclass.

Our program was designed specifically with General Practitioner’s in mind and our evidence-based presentations have a strong focus on providing practical advice with plenty of time for Q&A so you can gain the specific knowledge you require.

Our workshop aims to provide education and practical insights to improve your confidence in the assessment and management of patients with stroke.

Diverticular Disease – Myths and Management

By Cabrini Health

Dr Joshua Balhorn, Colorectal and General Surgeon I am a specialist Colorectal and General Surgeon with a focus on minimally invasive surgery, including advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques. I completed my post-fellowship colorectal training through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) across several major Melbourne centres, including the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Box Hill Hospital and The Alfred, with additional experience at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. I manage a broad range of colorectal conditions, including colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, rectal prolapse, haemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas. I also have a particular interest in colonoscopy and the management of inguinal and complex abdominal hernias. My public appointments include The Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals, where I am involved in the care of patients requiring both elective and emergency colorectal and general surgical services
