Join our expert panel featuring Prof David Hare and GP Dr. Amitabh Ilango, for a virtual roadshow exploring the latest evidence in the identification, assessment and management of cardiovascular (CVD) risk on 1 April 2026 6:30 – 8pm (AEST)

Following the success of 15 national roadshows delivered to general practice teams across Australia, the Heart Foundation is excited to continue our journey with our next roadshow, delivered in collaboration with Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN).

Tailored specifically for primary health professionals in the EMPHN region, this dynamic, 90-minute workshop will feature live presentations and audience Q&A with local clinical experts, exploring the practical application of the 2023 Australian Guideline for assessing and managing cardiovascular disease risk and Aus CVD Risk calculator. The roadshow is aimed to equip you with the latest evidence and advice to support you with the identification, assessment and management of CVD risk in your patients.

Learning Objectives include:

  • Identify and assess risk factors on the latest clinical risk assessment recommendations incorporating new evidence on CVD risk factors, imaging and biomarkers
  • Navigate local referral pathways for CVD risk factor management and review
  • Describe strategies for the management of high blood pressure and cholesterol, nutrition and other lifestyle support strategies
  • Summarise application of Heart Health Checks, including available resources for the general practice team. Participants will be encouraged to systematically embed Heart Health Checks as part of routine care.

This activity has been accredited by the RACGP and ACRRM for 1.5 Educational Activity CPD hours. RACGP CPD Activity no. 416743 and ACRRM Education Activity ID 39465.
