The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) invites you to join a workshop to help build your confidence to share information using the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS). In this interactive session, best practices will be explored when working with children and navigating difficult conversations with families. The practical application of CISS using relevant case studies that you can apply to your own workplace setting will also be discussed.
Speakers
Susie Lukas is a Children’s Resource Program consultant and trainer whose expertise is in social work, infant and child mental health, family violence and homelessness. Susie will talk about how seeking the views of children can improve a child’s wellbeing and safety.
Melissa Ryan who is a registered nurse, registered midwife and maternal child and health nurse. Melissa will share her experience implementing CISS in practice with the use of case studies.

Who should attend?
This session is relevant for Victorian primary health care nurses and members of the multidisciplinary health care team working with children and families.
APNA is the peak body and professional membership association for all nurses working outside of a hospital setting in Australia. The Improving Child Wellbeing and Safety Outcomes project is supported by the Victorian Government. You do not need to be an APNA member to attend this workshop.
