Speaker biography

Dr Jason Hockings is a Victorian-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialist expertise in hip and knee surgery.

Dr Hockings completed his orthopaedic training in Victoria in 2021 and have since undertaken multiple post-fellowship training programs to further develop his skills and expertise. His additional training includes a Melbourne-based fellowship with Professor John O’Donnell, focusing on hip arthroscopy and anterior hip replacement, as well as advanced training in Edinburgh with a focus on complex and revision joint replacement and robotic-assisted techniques. Dr Hockings also completed an advanced arthroplasty and sports fellowship on the NSW Central Coast.

Dr Hockings’ surgical interests include hip replacement via the direct anterior muscle-sparing approach, hip arthroscopy, arthroscopic sports knee surgery, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, and subvastus (muscle-sparing) advanced kinematically aligned knee replacement surgery.

Dr Hockings is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across both public and private settings, with a strong focus on hip and knee surgery.
He holds public appointments at St Vincent’s and Eastern Health, and consults and operates at Cabrini Malvern.
