DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome and join an engaging evening at St George’s Hospital Campus of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne to explore evidence-based approaches for supporting the mental health of our ageing population.  \n\n\n\nAnxiety disorders are the most common mental health condition among older adults and are highly prevalent in residential care settings\, often resulting in significant distress and disability. While anxiety is a frequent presentation in general practice\, there are effective treatments available to improve patient outcomes. \n\n\n\nThis seminar provides a comprehensive overview of the presentation and assessment of anxiety disorders in late life\, with a dedicated focus on effective treatment options that are available.  \n\n\n\nParticipants will engage in practical activities to observe and trial psychological strategies that can be immediately implemented in general practice or residential care settings. \n\n\n\nLearning outcomes:  \n\n\n\n\nDemonstrate the ability to apply brief psychological strategies to assist patients presenting with late life anxiety.\n\n\n\nIdentify and describe the way that anxiety may present in older adults.\n\n\n\nDifferentiate between major anxiety disorder diagnoses in late-life patients.\n\n\n\nConsider what treatment options are available for anxiety in older adults.\n\n\n\n\nYou will be prompted to register on Praxhub to attend.
