This practice-wide quality improvement exercise will enable you to identify potential barriers to vaccine uptake and check your performance against evidence-based benchmarks. \n\n\n\nThere are two pathways for this program\, one for GPs\, and one for Practice staff (including practice managers\, practice nurses and other relevant practice staff). I provide surgical consultation and opinion\, clinical evaluation including ultrasound in the rooms and perform surgery. I am mindful of cosmetic outcomes and utilise plastic surgical techniques to maintain or improve breast shape \, termed oncoplasty. When mastectomy is required or desired\, it is often performed with an immeidiate breast reconstruction with plastic surgeon colleagues. \n\n\n\nI take time to explain what it means to have cancer and the implications\, often with the aid of drawings\, mapping out potential pathways\, avenues of care and important considerations. I tailor treatment plans to each individual’s needs and discuss in confidence patient care plans with the multi-disciplinary care team at Cabrini. \n\n\n\nI trained as a surgeon in Melbourne and regional Victoria and was awarded the Royal Australian College Dr Leslie prize for my clinical research. In 2002\, as a Fellow I undertook a further two years of specialist training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide.I regularly meet with surgical colleagues to review clinical activities\, am a team member in multidisciplinary meetings\, and attend conferences and workshops to keep up to date with new discoveries and surgical techniques.

DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrimary care practitioners play a crucial role in ensuring improved health outcomes for people with hepatitis B\, through testing\, diagnosis\, informed clinical management and support of individuals and families.  \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, an estimated 227\, 571 people were living with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in Australia\, with 27.9% undiagnosed and 74.5% were not engaged in regular care (Viral Hepatitis Mapping Project: National Report 2024).   \n\n\n\nGuideline-based management and treatment of CHB can prevent liver cancer\, with CHB being the primary cause of liver cancer worldwide. Primary care practitioners play a critical role in the diagnosis and management of CHB in the community\, and in reducing preventable deaths from liver cancer.   \n\n\n\nPresented by Dr Lester Mascarenhas\, the founder of Utopia Refugee and Asylum Seeker Health\, this webinar will provide participants with crucial knowledge and understanding of hepatitis B and the impact of COVID-19 on patients living with hepatitis B.   \n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nOn completion of this course and its components\, participants will be able to:  \n\n\n\n\nIdentify priority populations for hepatitis B testing in Australia \n\n\n\nInterpret hepatitis B serology results. \n\n\n\nDescribe the role of primary care in the testing\, diagnosis and management of patients with hepatitis B in the community.

I offer comprehensive management of shoulder and elbow pathologies\, along with management of common wrist pathology\, and both complex and simple trauma of the extremities. \n\n\n\nI am passionate about research and providing high quality evidence-based practice\, with a background as a clinician researcher currently completing my PhD at Monash University on the topic of operative and non-operative management of proximal humerus fractures. In addition\, I have published extensively along with presenting my work at numerous specialty and sub-specialty meetings.
