DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSafer Care Victoria’s Maternity and Newborn Improvement Team\, with the support of Northern Health\, are pleased to invite you to an education evening on Preterm Birth Prevention in Primary Health. Aimed at Primary Health Providers\, this face to face education evening supports the National Preterm Birth Prevention Collaborative (Every Week Counts II)\, aiming to reduce preterm and early-term birth rates by 20% by June 2026. It focuses on bridging primary health care and maternity services to ensure timely interventions during early pregnancy. \n\n\n\nLearning Aims:\n\n\n\n\nIncrease awareness among primary health providers of early risk factors for preterm birth and the evidence-based strategies that reduce risk.\n\n\n\nHighlight the importance of timely intervention and the role of primary care in supporting these strategies.\n\n\n\nShare current RANZCOG guidelines and updates from the Preterm Preeclampsia Pilot.\n\n\n\nStrengthen referral pathways between primary care and maternity services.\n\n\n\nExplore opportunities for further engagement and collaboration with GPs and primary health providers.\n\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nParticipants will: \n\n\n\n\nIdentify women at increased risk of preterm birth.\n\n\n\nInitiate early interventions (progesterone\, cervical length measurement).\n\n\n\nUnderstand guidelines for preeclampsia screening and aspirin use.\n\n\n\nImprove communication between primary care and maternity services.\n\n\n\n\nEvent Details: \n\n\n\n\nMantra Melbourne Epping\n\n\n\n6:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Registration open from 5:30 pm)\n\n\n\nDrinks and finger food on arrival\, as well as a 2 course sit down dinner will be provided during the event).\n\n\n\nThis is a face-to-face event.
