The event is for General Practitioners and their staff to gain understanding about how to share information about preventative healthcare with their refugee-background patients while addressing cultural and health literacy needs. \n\n\n\nAUDIENCE: General Practitioners and Practice Nurses \n\n\n\nSPEAKERS: \n\n\n\n\nDr Rachel Claydon\, GP and Refugee Health Fellow RHNQ\n\n\n\nDr Margaret Kay\, GP\n\n\n\nEmma Sommerville\, Refugee Health Nurse\n\n\n\nMichel Ghazal\, Refugee Health Advisory Group member\n\n\n\nFaiza Abdurahman\, Refugee Health Advisory Group member\n\n\n\n\nTOPICS: \n\n\n\n\nTips on how to discuss preventative health care\, screening and immunisations\n\n\n\nDevelop an understanding of what makes preventative care feel safe\, accessible\, and worthwhile from a patient’s perspective\n\n\n\nSimple strategies for planning catch-up immunisation schedules.\n\n\n\nRelevant translated resources will be shared with attendees.\n\n\n\n\nA Statement of Attendance will be provided to attendees as documentary evidence to support professional development requirements. \n\n\n\nGP members of RACGP\, ACRRM and other CPD Homes can self-record this activity via their relevant CPD portal.
