As of 28th April 2024, 5,867 general practices have signed up for MyMedicare. 45,324 provider numbers have been linked to these practices to enable access to MyMedicare linked MBS items. These practices can now receive extra funding to assist their primary care team to deliver the care their patients need.
The department also acknowledges a significant patient registration milestone with over 1 million patients now registered in MyMedicare. As of 28th April 2024, a total of 1,079,358 patients are now able to access more patient-centred care and continuity of care from their preferred general practice and longer telehealth consultations.
