A large public health campaign promoting cervical screening, including the option of HPV self-collection, will be released in September this year. More patients are expected to present to general practices requesting self-collection or more information about the test.

In this session, attendees will be stepped through a practical guide outlining tips and ideas to support practices with implementing quality improvement activities to increase cervical screening rates and uptake of self-collection. Also hear how Dr Dan’s Medical Clinic made cervical screening a priority improvement activity to achieve 90% cervical screening rate at their practice.

Attendees will be provided with the Cervical Cancer Screening Quality Improvement Toolkit that will provide tips, tools, walkthroughs and information including Plan-Do-Study-Act examples.

Learning outcomes:

  • Implement cervical screening quality improvement activities to increase the uptake and accurate recording of cervical cancer screening (including self-collection)
  • Demonstrate a case study scenario outlining activities completed to increase cervical screening rates.
  • Integrate National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) within your clinical software to update patient information and screening data.
  • Identify eligible women and people with a cervix aged 25-74 due for cervical screening in my practice.
  • Implement accurate recording of cervical screening results and tack improvement progress.
