This practice-wide quality improvement exercise will enable you to identify potential barriers to vaccine uptake and check your performance against evidence-based benchmarks. \n\n\n\nThere are two pathways for this program\, one for GPs\, and one for Practice staff (including practice managers\, practice nurses and other relevant practice staff). Please ensure you select the right program for your position. \n\n\n\nThis education is designed to take place over multiple weeks. It does not need to be completed in one sitting. You can stop at any time\, and progress will be saved. You can find education you have started on your Dashboard. \n\n\n\nOn completion of this quality improvement program\, you will be able to:  \n\n\n\n\nUnderstand the current status of COVID-19 in Australia\, in particular its impact on older patients in primary care \n\n\n\nClarify the role of vaccination in preventing COVID-19-related morbidity and mortality in older patients \n\n\n\nReview current best practice recommendations for COVID-19 vaccination in patients aged 65 and older \n\n\n\nUsing a team-based approach\, decide on quality improvement targets and actions related to improving uptake of COVID-19 vaccines in older patients in primary care \n\n\n\nImplement and reflect on practice-wide quality improvement initiatives for increasing COVID-19 vaccine uptake

DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis interactive online course is designed to help health professionals provide best-practice sexual and reproductive healthcare throughout their patient’s life. \n\n\n\nSession one focused on how to have sexual and reproductive health conversations with young people\, including engagement strategies\, consent\, cultural considerations\, and person-centred approaches. \n\n\n\nSession two will focus on women in mid-life and beyond\, discussing sexual health through perimenopause\, menopause\, and after illness.  \n\n\n\nKnowledge will be translated into practice to improve sexual and reproductive health care throughout a patient’s life.  \n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes: On completion of this course and its components\, participants will be able to:  \n\n\n\n\nApply person-centred communication strategies to build rapport quickly\, take a sexual history\, and empower young patients within time-limited consultations.\n\n\n\nIdentify priority topics in young people’s sexual health\, consult current clinical guidelines\, and be able to find supplementary resources for deeper clinical detail.\n\n\n\nExplain the physiological changes of perimenopause and menopause and their impact on sexual health and functioning.\n\n\n\nUse structured\, empathetic consultation approaches to open conversations about sexual health with midlife and older women\, including how to make adequate time within primary care settings.\n\n\n\nDiscuss sexual health considerations for women after illness\, particularly cancer survivorship\, covering consent\, relationships\, STI risk\, and safety. \n\n\n\n\nCPD & Endorsement: This activity may be suitable for self-claiming CPD hours with your professional body.
