There are two theory modules in this course: \n\n\n\n\nBasic life support (BLS)\n\n\n\nAdvanced life support (ALS)\n\n\n\n\nLearning objectives for Basic life support (BLS) \n\n\n\n\nIdentify the indications for BLS in paediatrics\n\n\n\nExplain the appropriate actions for DRSABCDE\n\n\n\nDiscuss safe and effective use of the automated external defibrillator (AED)\n\n\n\nDescribe the management of a foreign body airway obstruction (FBOA)\n\n\n\n\nLearning objectives for Advanced life support (ALS) \n\n\n\n\nDiscuss the essential skills required to effectively function as part of an emergency response team.\n\n\n\n\n\nOutline the principles of cardiac arrest management\n\n\n\nApply the ANZCOR ALS algorithm to the management of cardiac arrest\n\n\n\nExplain the skills of airway management and manual defibrillation\n\n\n\nIdentify the medications used in cardiac arrest\n\n\n\n\nPlease note\, this is a fee-based course\, and attendees are responsible for covering the cost.
