Topics covered include up-to-date descriptions of the local burden of thyroid disease – highlighting opportunities for improvements in diagnosis and management – as well as reviews of the latest guidelines for the management of hyperthyroidism and thyroid nodules\, and the management of thyroid disorders during pregnancy. Updates on local referral guidelines and new radioactive iodine services at Western Health will also be covered\, with expert multidisciplinary input from all relevant specialties. \n\n\n\nFinally\, there will be opportunity for a direct question and answer session with the speakers. \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nDr I-Lynn Lee is an endocrinologist and Deputy Head of Western Health’s Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit\n\n\n\nDr Chris Preston\, Dr Annabel Jones and Dr Debbie Gordon are all endocrinologists\, working within Western Health’s Rapid Access Endocrinology Clinics\n\n\n\nDr Laura Chin-Lenn is a specialist endocrine\, breast and general surgeon\n\n\n\nDr Russell Krawitz is a specialist endocrine and general surgeon\n\n\n\nAll speakers have clinical and research interests and expertise in thyroid disease care.\n\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nBy the end of this webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\n\n\n\nDescribe the local burden and demographic trends of thyroid disease.\n\n\n\nDescribe the initial work-up and management of common thyroid disorders\, including non-functioning thyroid nodules\, and hyperthyroidism due to suspected Graves’ disease or toxic multinodular goitre.\n\n\n\nDescribe the common management considerations for patients presenting with thyroid disorders during pregnancy.\n\n\n\n\nRACGP: RACGP CPD – 1.5 hours Educational Activities \n\n\n\nHow to register\n\n\n\n\nWhen registering for an event\, all fields marked with an asterisk * must be completed.
