Sara holds a Grad Cert in Infection Prevention and Control through Griffith University and is a member of the RACGP Technical Working Group -infection prevention and control\, participating in the most recent review of the IPC guidelines for general practices and other office-based and community-based practices. \n\n\n\nDeborah Kerz is a highly experienced registered nurse and diabetes educator with over 30 years of service across public and private health sectors. Currently serving as a Nurse Education Officer at the Australian Primary Healthcare Nurses Association (APNA)\, she brings a wealth of knowledge in acute care and over 12 years of dedicated experience in primary health care within general practice. She holds qualifications in diabetes education and management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Join this webinar for a practical overview of the Assignment of Benefit changes that commenced 1 July 2026\, and learn strategies for practices to maintain compliance while managing new consent\, documentation and workflow requirements. \n\n\n\nSignificant changes to the Assignment of Benefit process took effect from 1 July 2026\, introducing requirements for obtaining\, recording and retaining patient consent for bulk-billed services. These changes will impact workflows\, documentation processes and compliance obligations across general practice and aged care settings. \n\n\n\nThis session will provide a practical overview of the new requirements\, explore compliant workflow solutions\, and discuss strategies to manage consent challenges for vulnerable patients\, substitute decision-makers and residential aged care residents. \n\n\n\nSpeaker:\n\n\n\nWendy O’Meara\, Education Consultant\, Larter \n\n\n\nWendy has 27 years’ experience in general practice.
