Thunderstorm asthma is a springtime phenomenon that all health professionals in primary care need to be prepared for. Under the last series (held 2018-2023)\, 100% of survey respondents reported the webinar either ‘partially’ or ‘entirely’ met their learning objectives. \n\n\n\nTopics: \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn how to: \n\n\n\n\nDescribe the association between allergic rhinitis and asthma\n\n\n\nSummarise the treatment guidelines for allergic rhinitis\n\n\n\nDescribe those at greater risk of thunderstorm asthma and the guidelines for management\n\n\n\nSummarise the importance of written asthma action plans and asthma first aid in thunderstorm asthma season\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker: \n\n\n\n\nNarelle Williamson\, Senior Clinical Consultant – National Asthma Council\n\n\n\n\nNarelle Williamson is the Senior Clinical Consultant at the National Asthma Council Australia. She is a registered nurse and respiratory educator\, with over 25 years’ experience in acute hospital settings and primary health care. \n\n\n\nNarelle has developed nurse-led respiratory clinics in primary care and for the past 12 years\, most recently in Melbourne’s east. Before her consultant management role at the NAC\, she spent 15 years as nursing manager at a large and highly regarded general practice.
