This practice-wide quality improvement exercise will enable you to identify potential barriers to vaccine uptake and check your performance against evidence-based benchmarks. \n\n\n\nThere are two pathways for this program\, one for GPs\, and one for Practice staff (including practice managers\, practice nurses and other relevant practice staff). Dr Ratner is a passionate advocate for women’s health and believe in empowering and supporting women to make informed decisions about their own health. \n\n\n\nLearning outcomes\n\n\n\n\nApply current evidence to the diagnosis and management of endometriosis and adenomyosis in primary care\, including when to initiate hormonal therapy and when to refer. \n\n\n\nIdentify and confidently address common patient-facing myths and social media misinformation about endometriosis during clinical consultations. \n\n\n\nExplain why hormonal therapy is the preferred first-line approach for superficial peritoneal endometriosis\, and understand the limitations of surgical treatment in this context.

His clinical interests include oesophageal and gastric cancer\, bariatric surgery\, hiatal hernias and gastro-oesophageal reflux\, and abdominal wall and groin hernia surgery. \n\n\n\nMr Stokes completed general surgical training through Alfred Health\, obtaining FRACS in 2021\, followed by three years of subspecialty training through the highly competitive AANZGOSA post-fellowship program. He undertook further training at Princess Alexandra Hospital\, Brisbane\, gaining extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux\, hiatal hernia\, and oesophageal and gastric cancer. Mr Stokes then completed a high-volume oesophago-gastric cancer fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh\, Scotland\, refining skills in complex cancer surgery. \n\n\n\nMr Stokes hold public appointments at The Alfred and Peninsula Health. Privately\, he consult in Malvern\, Frankston and Gippsland as part of South East Upper GI Surgical Group and operate at Cabrini Malvern.

DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Banksia Palliative Care experts for the third instalment of the Generalist Advanced Shared Palliative Care (GASP) program. \n\n\n\nThis session will focus on bleeding in palliative care\, including ongoing or recurrent bleeding and preparation for catastrophic terminal events. \n\n\n\nSignificant visible bleeding in a person living with incurable conditions can be highly distressing for patients\, families\, carers and responding health professionals. Dr Wang is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and hold public appointments at Monash and Eastern Health. \n\n\n\nDr Wang manages a wide range of vascular conditions including peripheral arterial disease\, aneurysmal disease\, carotid artery disease\, and dialysis access\, as well as venous disease\, including varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. Her skillset offers both open surgical and minimally invasive endovascular treatment options based on each patient’s individual requirements. \n\n\n\nDr Wang’s goal is to provide thoughtful\, compassionate and patient-centred care by ensuring clear communication with patients and their family regarding each condition and the treatment options available. DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning outcomes\n\n\n\n\nIdentify patients with dysphagia\, including subtle or intermittent symptoms\, who warrant early investigation or specialist referral. \n\n\n\nInterpret red flag features from less urgent presentations to guide appropriate referral timing and pathway. \n\n\n\nDiscuss how the correct diagnoses of many causes of dysphagia are readily treatable\, and that timely investigation and referral can lead to effective management.\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker biography\n\n\n\nI am an Upper GI\, Bariatric and General Surgeon. \n\n\n\nI completed General Surgery training through Monash Health\, obtaining FRACS\, followed by three years of post-fellowship training through the AANZGOSA program. This included positions at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand and The Austin Hospital\, where I gained extensive experience in both open and minimally invasive surgery. \n\n\n\nMy clinical interests include gastro-oesophageal reflux disease\, hiatus hernia\, oesophageal motility disorders\, gallbladder disease\, and abdominal wall and groin hernia surgery.
