DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Nurse Ambassador Program will provide practice nurses with the latest clinical knowledge about the four national cancer screening programs (bowel\, breast\, cervical and lung) and viral hepatitis\, so they can effectively discuss and endorse cancer screening participation and drive cancer screening uptake in their practice.  \n\n\n\nThe program will also focus on how to engage and support underscreened communities in cancer screening and achieve health equity for all Australians.  \n\n\n\nNurses will be recognised as a ‘Nurse Cancer Screening Ambassador’ after completing a series of four online webinars and submitting a reflective practice activity.  \n\n\n\nThe next program will be running March 2026 and will be delivered online via Zoom on the following dates:  \n\n\n\n\nWebinar 1: Thursday 12 March 2026 1:00pm – 3:00pm \n\n\n\nWebinar 2: Tuesday 17 March 2026 1:00pm – 3:00pm \n\n\n\nWebinar 3: Thursday 26 March 2026 1:00pm – 3:00pm \n\n\n\nWebinar 4: Tuesday 31 March 2026 1:00pm – 3:00pm\n\n\n\n\nThis program is FREE and open to all practice nurses in Victoria!  \n\n\n\nIf you’d like any further information\, please contact 1800 111 255 or Certification@cancervic.org.au

While anxiety is a frequent presentation in general practice\, there are effective treatments available to improve patient outcomes. \n\n\n\nThis seminar provides a comprehensive overview of the presentation and assessment of anxiety disorders in late life\, with a dedicated focus on effective treatment options that are available.  \n\n\n\nParticipants will engage in practical activities to observe and trial psychological strategies that can be immediately implemented in general practice or residential care settings. \n\n\n\nLearning outcomes:  \n\n\n\n\nDemonstrate the ability to apply brief psychological strategies to assist patients presenting with late life anxiety.\n\n\n\nIdentify and describe the way that anxiety may present in older adults.\n\n\n\nDifferentiate between major anxiety disorder diagnoses in late-life patients.\n\n\n\nConsider what treatment options are available for anxiety in older adults.\n\n\n\n\nYou will be prompted to register on Praxhub to attend.

SUMMARY:Common gastroenterology problems in general practice and outpatient settings: optimising evaluation and management
DESCRIPTION:Date\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin North Western Melbourne PHN and Mercy Hospital in this webinar which will explore three common gastroenterological and liver-related problems in the outpatient setting and will provide an update into the best practice in their evaluation and management.  \n\n\n\nThe topics covered will include gastrointestinal reflux disease (GORD)\, including its complications of Barrett’s oesophagus\, and considerations with regard to investigation and management including with PPI therapy.  \n\n\n\nThe evaluation of common liver diseases and cirrhosis will be covered\, including with non-invasive markers of fibrosis\, HCC surveillance\, the importance of nutrition and advances in the management of portal hypertension.  \n\n\n\nAnd finally\, there will be a review of the management of H pylori – in particular\, resistant H pylori – as well as the complication of gastric intestinal metaplasia and its screening and management.
